Second, it moves on to explain operating systems, sound, video, and the overall set up of a new build. Finally, it expands on the security of your new system and making it the best possible system out there. It’s truly a fantastic read for those of you looking to build your own PC.

It’s written in a simplified language that most people can understand. In fact, it’s written in a way that even a child could understand, the title is extremely misleading. If you are looking for a computer book, without all the technological mumbo jumbo, then this would be for you.

Although this is a fantastic book, there are a few cautions behind reading it. First, you MUST have a basic understanding of computer terms (such as the term “GPU” and “CPU”). The person who wrote this book is extremely technologically literate and they are not shy about using those terms. Second, you MUST have a basic understanding about computers. You could easily get lost in some of the scenarios posed in the book, if you are not. Finally, it’s not an extremely interesting book, it can be rather boring due to all the technological speak. If you are a person who prefers more of a “storytelling” book, then this is definitely not for you. This is more of an instruction manual, than that type of book.

The nice thing about this book is that it speaks about older operating systems, such as Windows XP and newer ones, such as Windows 10. Furthermore, it has some fantastic illustrations and examples to go along with the technical jargon. It’s not a difficult read, even though it does get rather technical at some points. I found it pretty easy to follow and interesting; but I wouldn’t recommend it for someone new to computers. However, I would recommend it to someone who has a basic knowledge of computers. As a matter of fact, I recommended it to interns looking to expand their knowledge of computers.

However, if you are looking for anything else, then you should look elsewhere. The book is full of terminology and Cybersecurity concepts that can be difficult to understand for the common Joe. However, a couple of reads and you should be able to grasp the concepts. This book is more for people entering the field of Cybersecurity who need a basic understanding of the career.
