A Computer Repair Shop for Christmas
Once upon a time there was a young woman named Angelica. She wasn’t a particularly extraordinary woman, but she was extremely talented with computers. In fact, she was a computer technician at a local computer repair shop near me. This is her story.
Wishing for a Computer Repair Shop
Angelica walked to work every day, past the baker, past the park and past the cute little fountain downtown. In fact, every day she stopped at the park and took out a little coin, tossed the coin in the fountain and made a wish. “I wish I owned my own little computer repair shop”, she would quietly whisper to herself. Then, she would continue walking to her work at a local computer repair shop near me. Since Angelica loved her job, she was one of the most beloved computer technicians. People requested her all the time, they loved dealing with her. She imagined that she was practicing for when she opened her own shop.
The Computer Repair Shop that Never Came
Angelica tried saving plenty of money for her new shop, but things kept coming up. First, her car broke down and she had to get that fixed, $4,000. Second, her mom passed away and she had to pay for the funeral arrangements, tons more money went into that. Finally, her sister got sick, and she had to help pay the hospital bills. Again, more money went into that. Poor Angelica was hemorrhaging money. At this point, there was no way that she was ever going to make her dream come true. But what could she do? All she could do was start saving money again and hope that she would eventually reach her goal.
Working at a Computer Repair Shop
Day after day, Angelica went to work and did her job perfectly. In fact, she fixed computers better and faster than anyone else. However, she was sad because she simply couldn’t afford her own shop. Unfortunately, this sadness began to show, and she stopped smiling as much and she stopped being as nice to clients. It was beginning to affect her performance at work. Poor Angelica, she was no longer the optimistic, happy-go-lucky computer technician that everyone knew. No, she dreaded going to work now, and every day seemed more depressing than the next.
Talking to the Elves about a Computer Repair Shop
Eventually, Angelica even stopped throwing coins into the fountain at the park. One day, right before Christmas, she heard someone gently whisper her name at the fountain. She turned around and there, at the edge, sat a tiny little elf. At first, she thought she was imagining things. But then, the elf spoke, “you should really keep your wish alive and maybe it will help your wish come true,” said the elf. Then, as quickly as he had spoken, he completely disappeared. Angelica kept walking thinking that maybe it was a hallucination, brought on by food poisoning. She did eat at a strange restaurant the night before.
Dreaming about a Computer Repair Shop
That same night, on Christmas Eve, Angelica laid down in her bed, thinking about the crazy little hallucination. She fell asleep wondering about the conversation and not losing hope that she would one day own a shop. In fact, she began to dream almost immediately about the perfect little shop right in front of the fountain. It was purple with green trim, which sounds odd, but looked very nice. When you walked into the shop, there was a small reception area, just large enough for clients to feel welcome with a beautiful green marble counter. In the morning, Angelica woke up completely refreshed from her spectacular dream and ran to the fountain to make her wish for the day.
Passing by the Perfect Computer Repair Shop
As Angelica was headed to the fountain to make her wish on Christmas morning, she noticed that directly in front of it was a building she had never seen before. In fact, it looked like it had just popped up overnight. It looked oddly familiar, as if she had seen it before in a dream. At some point, she began to recognize the purple paint and the green trim. As a matter of fact, she walked up to the window and noticed the small reception area with the cute marble counter. Could it be possible? Had she seen this before and it had just manifested in her dream?
A Gift from the Elves: A Computer Repair Shop
Almost by instinct, Angelica grabbed the door and handle and went inside the shop. There was a giant sign behind the counter that said, “please ask me how I can help you”. This was funny because this is what she usually said to clients at her work. She walked up to the counter and noticed that there was a note on the counter. It read, “to Angelica, front the elf at the fountain, keep the dream alive, I believe this shop belongs to you”. Underneath the note was the deed to the shop and all the paperwork she would need to own it. Angelica was nearly in tears by this point.
Her Very Own Computer Repair Shop
Realizing that now she owned a beautiful little computer repair shop, Angelica paid for a sign up front that said, “the computer repair shop where dreams come true”. It became the popular little shop in town and of course it had the best customer service. To this very day, Angelica can be seen outside of her shop washing her windows or straightening out her sign. She is always happy to greet a new client and help them with all their computer repair needs. THE END.
